This last few weeks has seen us busier than ever, and as so often happens one person leads us to another.
It began with a student who had been one of the Carlisle College team who helped decorate our Fisher Street rooms almost exactly a year ago. The construction students were a fabulous bunch and we were so grateful for their support. Anyway this young man had a forthcoming interview, remembered about Well Suited and got in touch. I can't think of a more perfect circle of support than to send him out suited and booted, looking sharp and professional (and even better he was offered the job:-)
We were also contacted by Carlisle Refugee Action Group to see if we could help outfit some members for a formal awards ceremony they were attending. I love it when we get to roll out the evening suits, waistcoats and dress shoes. Maybe it's the complete transformation, and the obvious delight at seeing ourselves transformed but it's tremendously satisfying. They looked splendid and each one of them found their own style.
A prom appointment recently has led to us also dressing a groom and a bridesmaid for a wedding later this year, that's a first for us.
Finally we (just today) dressed up a couple of young men from The Rock Youth Project, now they are ready to help compere their very own fashion show (next Friday 12th April at the Halston in Carlisle). Please support this project if you are able to get along on the evening (or afterwards by donation if you're not) it's a valuable resource for our young people in the Currock area.
Formal clothing to allow people to attend these types of events is just as important as interview outfits. It can make the difference between being part of a celebration or being left out. Thank you for all your donations.
